AJ: For long now human relationships have been necessary for breeding purposes. Making babies and stuff. Human infants are weak crying things that can't save their own lifes, take the longest to walk and have a huge head almost the size of their bodies and that weights more than the actual body.
AJ: To take care of the little fuckers humans group together in couples. It's easier that way.
AJ: Though now a days breeding does not require relationships and the relationship don't necessarely mean breeding.
AJ: We connected them more to something that people call "love". Fluffy feelings of being attached to someone else that often include a level of intimate physical contact.
AJ: Though relationship types differ from place to place and time to time, being different from one culture to another, together with what is acceptable as/in a relationship.
AJ: Thus relationships involving much more complex things just hormones and feelings, often they will be affected by different social status, cultures, age, wealthy and the such.
