So, we have to confront the fact that some characters will disappear! This is a natural part of a forum, people will leave as real life catches up, etc. But with a relatively small group such as ours and a fairly important element of plot consistency, I think we should consider prepping for it now.
That is to say, we should figure out an in-universe explanation for the sudden retcon of entire persons and events. o3o
There are a lot of fun possibilities, from Universes fusing, to some cosmic, Lord-English-ish force going around retconning certain people and events independently of the will of the alpha timeline. The possibilities are staggering.
Better yet, people can leave - AND THIS GIVES THEM ROOM TO COME BACK. Since it's not that they 'never' existed, but rather that they were 'replaced.' Discovering that they were replaced would probably require somebody to 'leave' and then 'return' in a planned fashion. >
Thoughts?

I usually just scratch whatever interactions people who leave had with my characters. Pretend it never happened. It's like a little blip in time and space and suddenly everything is just rewritten.

Oh no, I realize that. I'm just saying that we can use this natural tendency as a plot point because it's a predictable occurrence.
Obviously most characters SHOULD just act as if the erasure of others was totally natural, but some characters - mind and time, especially, blood maybe - might have some lingering doubts about what is going on.
Also, it leaves room for old characters to 'return' which is always nice. o3o
