STAFF IMPORTANT, REGARDING MANY ASPECTS TO HELP RP

Ok well, here goes a shot at trying to set up the game where as to make it a bit easier for RPing purposes. Also considering the fact that we have had about a few months now since the game has become available and people are still trudging along in character development threads and planning, etc. Which I love all that stuff as much as the next guy and it is important for RPing, but after all this is a Homestuck Roleplay site and a major part of Homestuck is the game. Which is why I am posting this proposal,

Now I hate breaking canon as much as you do, but considering the fact that this site can be very sparratic with losing or gaining members, though I will touch on the members idea in a minute.

Now here are some proposals on which how to enter the players into their worlds.

• We still have the canon average entry into the game, though the rping of deploying everything and all the other things needed to enter are all done without the need to roleplay them. And we will have a set order created with how they entered and who hosted which servers etc. And the players will just create an entry post to their new world.
  
  IE: You wake up in your new world and look over to your new pal BIRDSPRITE. (Just a random sprite o3o) It all happened so fast, you can recall retrieving a GREY CAMERA which you had to break to save your house from the meteor that was speeding ahead. Suddenly you remember you chum who helped you in the game, you think it best to give them a heads up to know your safe... etc.
  
  
• A new method for entering the game is developed in which sprites are lacking, hence no need to prototype and merely only needing the loading of the hosts game with the client to enter the new world that your house is deployed into. Hence leaving less to guessing for the player, though breaking canon.
  
  
  Second solution to a MAJOR set of problems that often come up.

Let's say an RPer poofs from the site for awhile and doesn't appear when an activity check arises. OH WELL looks like a KEY plot part in my characters story just poofed away and its up to me to figure out just what the heck to do. As well as Guardians/Ancestors being out of luck at that point.

STEP 1: The first step to this pesky problem is to kill off the Guardians ASAP, this will help with less characters ties though my next set of solutions will revolve around the Gaurdians.


[/li][li] Now here's an idea for the kid part, we have a set of options here in my opinion. One of which is we can have the character roster become official site canon in which now the character will still exist and just be picked up by another RPer,
so now any major plotting won't be completely forgotten. In the process for applying for a character in this case would be to create a minimum 250 word RP sample of the person roleplaying the character for the staff to determine if they grasp the character.

[/li][li] Now here's another option which I don't like quite as much as the first option, though it can still work to keep the Original Character plot going. Once a character's roleplayer is gone, the site will find a way for that character to be killed off.

IE: Giant boulder crushes them, get's murdered by Jack Noir, etc.

Though in this session the game act's differently in which once one player is removed another kid or troll, is taken through their session in which they had previously failed in and then taken and given a second chance in a new session with a new group of kids/trolls. This would also make it so the need for a current guardian to change to the new kids guardian pointless since they were meant for this session and their kid/troll was just killed. Though if the former kid/troll had no existing guardian a rper would take the new kid/trolls guardian.

[/li][li] Right now it's been hard with the guardians switching around when a kid/troll drops out so I have a new proposal for them and how they can be used. If we do enter the game immediately then I think that the Alpha session should exist already, though not yet in the game but in the phase the site has been in which is plot development and stuff with other kids/trolls, and the game would start for them once the scratch has been made. This would allow Alpha kids/trolls to jump right into the game with already having created the prior relationships we have made. And since the Alpha's have their guardian/ancestors die often before they even enter the game it would work out fine as we would have it be a non rped death.

Alright *Cracks knuckles* now that that is out of the way feel free to comment and help with these ideas and staff stamp approval or help modified. Though honestly I think we have been staying on this plan for quite sometime now and I honestly don't think it's working. And we need to get out of this purgatory state this site is in before in shrivels up into nothingness. So that's my thoughts,

The first proposal seems like a super idea! The second one, though extremely convenient, breaks canon too much and a complete lack of sprites would result in some sort of ridiculously doomed session like so doomed that they die before they even enter the medium which would actually make a lot of sense but i'm rambling at this point OOPS

Killing off guardians just because a kid leaves is not the best solution because it leaves the person who plays the guardian high and dry. I'd rather not do that, it's unfair to the guardian.

Official site canon, I think, breaks the entire concept of an OC plotline like we're doing. OCs allow people to be creative and make whatever they want, and having to be a certain class/aspect is already very limiting. Narrowing it down to everything would be too much. There are numerous problems with inactive characters getting killed off:

• What if the person comes back? Sorry, the character is dead. We could bs something about someone moving that character to a quest bed, but it's a cheap way to get god tier and can be abused.
  
• No new slots for newer members. Because the character slot that was taken is gone and dead.
  
• Prototyping effects still remain. If we just allow more character in, the imps will get tougher and tougher until it's preactically not even feasible for the kids to take care of them without god tier.
  

That final solution results in four timelines being RP'd at once. That makes for a whole lot of potential paradoxes, problems, and just general confusion. It's something I'll look into, yes, but don't expect it being implemented right away, at least.

Finally, woah. While I do appreciate trying to help very much, it's ridiculous that you suggest that the site is dying because of the path it's on when really the staff has nothing to do with it. Members keep this site alive. We can bicker about what should be done, or we can do it. This can and will work. Once in the medium, things will be interesting again. I can't move the story by myself. That's on the members. We're only in "purgatory" because everyone believes that the other admins and I can fix everything, when that's simply not the case.

If you don't think this is working, ask someone in the cbox "hey would you like to be my server player?", the person will likely accept, and then you create the thread and get the ball rolling.

Sorry Nick I didn't mean for it to come off it as I was trying to get the staff to fix everything. I fully understand everyone has to play their part for the RP to work I only meant to address the staff to possibly implement some of the solution ideas I have posted. But anywho, thanks for giving it a look over and sorry for the whole thing again. But anyways I'm gonna get the ball rolling! ME and Tory already set up a thread awhile ago that was sort of paused, due to a thing that came up in a memo about post poning the entry, but I think now I'm gonna get them in anywho.
