SS: I must agree with you on the absurdity of such a holiday. I suppose if I had a significant other, I would appreciate such a holiday more, but as it stands, it is simply ridiculous.

SS: What is a matesprit? A word for a significant other, I presume? And why would you pity them?

As you did not correct me, I will assume it is another word for a significant other. SS: Thus, I can assume that pity is your form of love? Or at least the word that you give it. SS: As I have said, the differences are fascinating...

SS: Perhaps when you are feeling pity, you are feeling love? And vice versa, for humans? SS: After all, it could simply be different names we give them.

SS: The official definitions of love are "an intense feeling of deep affection", and "to feel a deep romantic or sexual attraction to someone". SS: Of course, that is a very clinical examination of it. SS: In more emotional terms... It is when you care for someone to such a degree that life without them, whether your bond is platonic or romantic, is unimaginable, and if you truly needed to and there was no other option, you would sacrifice yourself in order to ensure that they remained alive. SS: Am I remaining competent, thus far?

I love my cousin, however annoying she may be, and it is difficult to look at this and think of her. SS: Perhaps if I described it from a more personal view? SS: If you do wish to listen to such dithering, of course. I can always continue with this more clinical and factual approach.
